2010 was a remarkable year.
We’ve been humbled by the incredible passion for full equality we’ve encountered across the country. When we started less than a year ago, we knew there were people who were ready to demand equal rights without delay. What we’ve seen is tens of thousands of people who are unwilling to cede their lives and livelihoods to those who want to keep LGBT Americans separate and unequal.
We’ve pulled together a short video that highlights some of the actions GetEQUAL and allied state-based activists have organized since March 2010. Take a look:
Join us in tackling political and cultural trans/bi/homophobia in the new year. We can wait no longer.
Get Out! Get Active! GetEQUAL!

P.S. — We realize that many folks, in Arizona and across the country, are thinking about Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others who were harmed in last week’s tragic events. We join you in wishing those families the best. As a member of the LGBT Caucus in the House of Representatives, we know that Rep. Giffords is committed to the fight for equality alongside us. Our friends at Faithful America summed up our thoughts quite well: “Now more than ever we are committed to standing up to hateful and violent political speech. We don’t know the exact motive for the shooting, but violent words have taken on a new and darker meaning in the shadow of today’s tragedy in Arizona. We pray for justice, peace and healing for all those directly affected, and for our entire nation.” Be kind to one another.
